today was the finals of tennis open and it was a pegasus vs griffin match! AND PEGASUS WON! OH YAYY! Pegasus team was bay and shiyuan! They totally rocked! Bunny and i were there to support them. We were rather high during the match, cheering bay on. Even a few tennis people stared at us as we cheered (: hee hee. WELL DONE BAY!

0832 played floorball against another class during pe today and we totally thrashed them! 6-0! and top scorer was hannah. haha yea, you’re no longer laoya already! it really showed our class unity, and we even did our laoda cheer at the end of the game, the guys didn’t want to do at first! the last time we did that cheer was like level camp? HAHA. oh yea, 0832!

we were walking around in the staffroom and we met yang’s 4f classmates vinnie and sarah. haha so qiao. sadly most of the teachers weren’t around, i only met johnny hoo and mrs sherwood. i told mrs sherwood i’m taking geog and she thought i was there to criticize about jc geog. haha but nope, i thanked her instead. that’s just luck cos my MYE geog was still okay. yayy. but since the rest weren’t around, we stuck post its on their tables! i guess they’ll read it tmr (: oh oh and when i was on the way to sn, like around 2, i saw mr gan at some random amk road bus stop. HAHA. he looked so blur and as usual in his graph paper shirt!

there was tennis open today in ny. inter-house competition. and from 0832 pegasus, bay, sutsia, jess and i took part. so sorry jess, we trained so hard and you didn’t get to show off your great skills. HAHA. no worries, next open then! haha wells, sutsia and i have never played tennis. so we lack the techniques. we could barely serve. haha. we lost 2-11 to bay and the school team girl. BUT IT WAS STILL A PEGASUS WIN! YAYY!

9th July

CCA day!

We had the longest meeting that day! CCA started at like 3 till 8. Although we did spend 2 hours clearing our CCA room. YES, we finally have our own house room! But so sorry drama ppl, we had to clear most of your stuff :/ Irene, Si Jin and I were slacking at first. Everyone was busy carrying the things out and sweeping the floor, and it took 3 of us to clean the whiteboard. HAHA! We were planning what stuff to put in our house room, and i think we fantasize too much. HAHA. Erm a bit, the room’s not that big y’know. But the pantry that we’ll replenish food weekly is a must have! Si Jin will be in-charge of that, cos i bet she’ll eat all the food up! We even thot of have a square table so we can play mahjong during the holidays! HEE HEE! I can’t really rmb much about the gossips during meeting cos for once we were quite on task, but i do rmb laughing lots. Hah And the saddest thing is i took some photos and i’m in none of it! :((

Just a totally random day. Playing cards is the recent trend in class. Some chem teacher told us to keep our cards, so the brilliant Camy drew her own ones.

I had like 3 hours to spare, which was totally spent on playing cards (: Later on, met yang, naiy, chris and deb at plaza sing. Finally, a gathering! We had dinner together, but only managed to hang around for a really short while :/ But it was great to meet up after like, a really long while?

It was PE day again. And as usual, i was slacking by the sidelines. Maybe i’ll join them for PE next week!

12th July

Peer tutoring day! It was orientation and we got to play some really interesting games. It was kinda fun and it’s really amazing to see how the kids were easily satisfied. I was telling jess, if we played the same games with 0832, we’ll be totally sian diao. But there was one balancing balloon thing that might work with our class (:

yayy i’m back from ltc! camp was way better than i expected. i was so so reluctant to go for camp (sorry my dear flitwick!) but my group, flitwick, totally helped change my perspective of adventure camps! well, camp was held at changi coast adventure (ccac), where the water sports is it’s best activity. it’s really cool to work with all the ny cca leaders, good exposure!

well had school in the morning :/ so there was still morning flag raising and everyone could see those ppl going for camp, carrying huge bags and like me, limping them around school. haha. hannah was laughing at my bag, saying i brought such a big bag like going for a long holiday so not lor. many others brought like 2 bags? i just brought one hand-carry bag, one bag pack (which was rather empty) and my sleeping bag.

oh yea, si jin manage to squeeze ALL of her things into her school bag and shoe bag. LIKE GOSH! her school bag is the size of my bag pack! irene and i wanted to steal her bag away again to open up and see how she pack her stuff. i keep insisting she forgot to pack something, i even went through the whole packing list. well she really did bring everything (i just happen to bring one more tee, one more shorts, one more track pants than her, but that’s still doesn’t explain her bag size!) oh yea just in case you were wondering, she really did manage to pack everything back in her bag on the last day! mannn, i totally don’t understand how she packs her stuff! (pity i don’t have a pic of her bag!)

well i only left for camp at 10. before that there was still pw lesson. which 0832 did nothing else other than playing cards. HAHA. it’s not that my group was slacking, but we were done already ;D practically the rest of the class were waiting to leave school as soon as rachel, bay, chiang lin and i went for camp (: i don’t rmb taking any pics that morning :/ oh you know, i didn’t pack my camera for camp! ahhh so shock yea. haha. (so i have to wait till i get the photos from either zhiwen or when photog puts up the photos on ny web)

so later on flitwick set off for ccac! we had lunch! si jin was on house elf duty and she didn’t want to serve me my lunch :/ BLEAH! i did that to her during my sunday’s duty too. HAHA. well our first event was kayaking! (i look tanner now. yayyy! i think my arms have a nice tan, but bunny said bay’s one is nicer :/ HAHA. there were plenty of lobster ppl in school today!) then we had night walk in the ‘forbidden forest’ (harry potter theme rmb?). sadly it wasn’t scary at all! compared to house exco camp, i would have to sadly and reluctantly say exco one might be scarier cos it’s individual. ltc’s one is a super long walk, it had the atmosphere (cos really at the forest), and we had to blindfold for quite a long way. sok yi had to be blindfolded for a large part of the journey due to a forfit. gosh. for the later task, everyone but her was blindfolded, so i didn’t get to see all the scary stuff. i heard dogs barking but i thot it was recorded. in the end i found out they were really dogs, and 3 of them just laid there and i walked past! AHHHH. and the station masters dressed up as like creatures with masks and long robes.

after every big activity we will have reflections and we have to share together as a group and write for our ‘pensieve’. i have quite a few strips of paper in my pensieve now (: okay okay, i shall thank si jin for writing my name on my pensieve. it’s fading away soon

 

oh lights off was at 12 but by 1145 my group the girls were all asleep. eileen said she was so shock to see my group all sleeping already even tho most ppl in the bunk was still packing their stuff and lights were still on (: my group took up like 1/3 of the platform space. we had a nice area to turn here and there while the rest of the other groups like 5 others had to share that 2/3 area and quite squeezed. HAHA.

since it’s at changi, aeroplanes are a every 10mins thing. each time we had a briefing, and a plane flies pass, we’ll have a commercial break, cos the engine sound is so so loud. everyone will just look up and stare (is that SIA? oh yea it is!) this morning at the parade ground, bay and i were looking up, hmm no planes. so not used to it. during those 4 days, planes were common all the way till 4am in the morning (: i counted 60 planes on friday (:

it was a whole day’s worth of kayaking! GOSH! it’s really sickening to kayak after friday’s too. i hate capsizing :/ my nose hurts due to the salt water. it’s tougher to kayak at changi as compared to kallang. carrying those kayaks really gave me a backache. haha but everyone helped to share the load, and it really built team spirit. oh i just rmbed about bath time. all the girls of gryffinclaw had to bath within 45mins. and there were only 3 shower cubicles. there was a mass bathing area tho, like 8 shower heads all together. on saturday, cos everyone was desperate for a bath, many squeezed to bath. it was really creepy. i ran in to join the fun too. haha. we bathe in our clothes la. it was a super memorable moment for me. HAHA. and even if i get to bathe at the shower area, all the doors aren’t able to lock, including the cubicles and it’s flooded. there was once i was changing and my slippers float to the next cubicle. HAHA, thank goodness my groupmate was in that cubicle (: (some girl ran into my cubicle while i was bathing on the first day. hee hee but my reaction was fast (: )

and we finally had an hr together as a cca! like the only time! woah. shangyu said it was my dream come true. HAHAHA. we had to plan an orientation together while planning the risks to take and other precautions. as usual, exco took 50 mins to gossip and share abt the fun things we had in camp while rushing the last 10 mins to fill in the worksheet to hand in. typical. well at least some people like xinyi and irene were happy to see me (: yayy, not like some. HAHAHA, just totally dao me at first.

oh oh and we had waltz practice! haha. prof audrey taught us how to dance the waltz. it’s rather easy (: yayy. who’s up for a dance with me? HAHA.

oh i also got my one-star kayaking ‘license’ that day!

sunday

finally no kayaking. it’s a swop programme with slytherpuff. it’s the ‘dragon and the egg’ challenge. or better know as the high rope elements event. i did 4 of the 6 items (: and i’m super proud of myself! i’m someone who fears the ropes. not really abt the height, but the ropes. haha. i did flying fox (we got to sit on the broomstick! so cute la!) , walking down a wall (it was my best achievement cos i feel like i was just jumping down the building!) , standing on a pole at least 4m high and jumping forward to catch a bar (which i failed to catch, but jumping off was fun) and walking on tight-rope (it was easy cos of the 2 side ropes). i didn’t do rock climbing cos my back was aching like mad then :/ but i didn’t quite like rock climbing anyways (:

hmm yea and we collected our ltc tee. it was orange with blue. just like the pre-u sem facils tee! gosh. pictures under monday. we changed and it was the main highlight, campfire! mr kwek and ms chan (mrs kwek) attended! HAHA. campfire = yule ball. there were performances by the different houses, ravenclaw sent our 5 dancing queens and erm a guy to sing. well he should really hear himself sing. my group was singing loudly to drown his voice. even the ava for that day played the background music really loudly. HAHA. there were simple games like get the most shoes. flitwick was super enthu. we took part in all the games. and we sang spongebob’s CAMPFIRE SONG SONG! at first it was a group practice and i was telling my grp i sing that song in class so often. then just as i said that there was the singing of campfire songsong competition and my group threw me out to sing. HAHA. i was so so reluctant to go up so i dragged jingyu with me. (bay told me today she wanted to go up too! it’s such an 0832 thing!) there were like 5 ppl to compete with. so malu can :s but it was a really high moment and flitwick cheered us on! “C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G SONG, C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G SONG, and if you don’t think that we can sing it faster than you’re wrong, it will help if you just sing along!” HAHA can you imagine me singing that infront of everyone?!!! so weird for me to be that high to go up on that ’stage’ to sing! well we all won light sticks (:

and since it’s a yule ball, we danced the waltz, trad dance, 30th dance, 29th dance. house exco manage to randomly meet in middle during the dance. it was so so messy. oh oh edeline and i were dancing then ppl came to bang into us, purposely! HAHA. then when i was dancing with si jin, we went to bang into ppl! hee hee. so lame yea. danced with flitwick too (: there should have been more dances and it should have been brighter. i could hardly see the person i was dancing with. HAHA.

monday

last day of camp :/ we had ‘the enchanted maze’ event which was a sea and land expedition. first we had a 2km dragonboat rowing to east coast, then an amazing race event 2km back to camp. we came in last for dragonboat, and was scolded quite badly by our prefect cailing. so we were motivated to do better for land ex, and we came in first. we ran and ran and ran. quelyn was like strolling behind and when we overshot our station she had to scream for us. HAHA. we were first to reach ccac, we screamed like mad, that the kayaking grp stared at us.

then we had school photo taking in our orange tee! flitwick said it looked like m1 staff, so we did that ‘good’ handsignal and said “oooh ohhh” like that funny advert. HAHA. hopefully they’ll post the pictures soon! there were awards and mostly were won by council. well, not a surprise. we made cards for our prefects (we rushed the night before, sleeping only at 2am!) and included the brush of the broomstick from the flying fox (which fell off on sunday!). we said it smelled like us and quelyn blindly did that. HAHA.

well flitwick, it was a really memorable 4 days with you guys. like we said, although we started off with plenty of misunderstanding, we got to know each other better as a grp and we all bonded well.

well, a week of pw, that rocks. well i love my group! we’re really efficient (cos we did most of our wr during the holidays) and we still have time to gossip. haha! it’s kinda a cool week, just slacking. not much teacher’s supervision, and we get to really spend time to do pw. just that the handing in of wr timing kinda pissed us off quite a bit. we normally finish our work by 12 but we can only hand in at 4. so irritating. of course, we made some arrangements and get to leave by 2 (:

End of mid-years! yayy. we had class outing to vivo! i heard lots were at orchard. hmmm vivo was rather empty. except that at the movie theatre, it was kinda half-filled with ny ppl. haha. there were a few from the other classes. well 12 of us went to vivo, we ate at the top open deck. it was fun, like a picnic. we watched get smart! it was simply hilarious. well there were a few moment when i cringed, cos it was quite gross in a funny way. haha. well the tai-tais gang was happily shopping away but the sales weren’t attractive enough for them. pity.

well that’s all the overdued photos. haha. i’m going to wake up later to watch the euro 2008 finals! i’m rooting for germany, nope not to oppose camy, but cos i have a germany tee, and if they win, i can wear it out. HAHA.

hey!

the briefing for ltc seems like the joke of my day! the theme is harry potter! HAHAHA. i’m serious. just ytd i was reading yang’s blog about wanting to study in hogwarts, and today it was on harry potter. like woah. it’s really funny how everything started out. the programme booklets were like gryffinclaw??! and there was the harry potter soundtrack playing when we stepped into lt1! (hey naiy and joce! it’s great that you guys bought that soundtrack for me years ago. i nearly laughed my head off knowing the name of the soundtrack!) i shan’t comment about my group yet, but at least i can rmb all their names (: yayy! hopefully we’ll all get to know each other more during the camp. this pre-camp thing is quite weird. imagine meeting them in school next week before camp, it’s just feels funny. like, ‘hey! you’re in my group yea. looking forward to camp’.

and the terms for the camp is totally harry potter-ish. there’s like hogwarts castle, professors, prefects and we’re witches and wizards. haha this is going to be one interesting camp. and there was the ’sorting’ of our houses today. one rep from each grp had to sit on a stool and wear the harry potter wizard hat. and it speaks, oh i sense courage, you’re in gryffindor! haha but nope, my group’s flitwick from ravenclaw. haha we were nearly in slytherin! (hey sijin, you have the slytherin look (: haha isn’t your grp just awesome? more bonding time yea! cool! HAHAHA! i’m more than willing to bug you during camp!)

oh yea, the whole briefing was like a crash course on harry potter! really. we had introduction on harry and the camp is focusing on book 4 so we got to watch video clips from harry potter! it was really cool! i was suppressing my laughter during the briefing, cos like erm it’s just weird to be ‘informed’ about harry potter in school. and it’s funnier that i’m hard-core harry potter fan, seriously i thought it was a joke.  (hey yang, if you’re taking part in this camp, don’t you think it’s such a joke too!)

after the briefing we had cca gossip session meeting. i’m sure we utilised our time well (: haha. but it’s always nice to listen to stuff, it’s like a group sharing, but a meeting on it. hee hee. oh rachel was simply hilarious throughout the day! oh and i realise i haven’t brought my camera out in a long long time. i was playing with shangyu’s green camera and taking my oh-so-typicalcandid shots. not bad really. (hey shangyu, upload the photos soon! i like so many of the shots. hee hee) although i was seriously reluctant to wake up early for the briefing, the day was rather fulfilling (:

oh i read this on camy’s blog just now and i thought it was funny: Nothing much happened in school today. Just that Denise stole my bread during MT lesson which seriously made me so disappointed for that 1.5 hours!(quite some time ago) haha simply hilarious, i didn’t know she wrote that till like just now. once again i’ll stress that the bread stealing thing was instigated by zhilin!

wow it’s been a while that my post doesn’t have photos (: it gets really boring once in awhile. i won’t really read my own post. haha.

hmmmm, normally i would say tons, but i guess as the disappointments come and go, it’s not really that of a big deal. but i guess setbacks keep me motivated, so it’s not all that bad.

( 2 ) where will you go if someone sponsors you a tour ticket?
haha ‘a’ tour ticket? only one? can i be a paid tourist? like my occupation is ‘THE TOURIST’. this is where migration geog comes in. it’s kinda cool to not have a permanent home, like travel for a few years as my job, but productive of course. like write a book, do a documentary, or be a photographer, so the touring isn’t wasted.

making people laugh or rather make their smile and be happy. some people takes things too seriously, some just needs some cheering up, some needs their daily dose of fun, and some, well i just like to see them smile. seriously. everyday in school, i’ll always crack my brains and try to think of something interesting to share to some classmates cos i like to see them smile or laugh. it’s just really nice to know that there’s people to appreciate the lame stuff i do and if it makes people happy, why not?

( 4 ) do you think money can buy happiness?
yes, absolutely right. haha okay i’ve mentioned geog. now’s econs. i didn’t get to write about this part for my mid-years cos it didn’t come out for the exam. darn. okay let’s see. well money is the material aspect of our standard of living, it’s what that increases our SOL. with money, there’s a tendency for SOL to rise, ceteris paribus (taking everything else as constant). and happiness is the non-material aspect of SOL, so it’s interlinked. haha but seriously, with money, we can afford to have a better life, we can control what we want to do with our lives. Happiness, to me, is about leading my own life the way i want it to be.

( 5 ) do you believe you can survive without money?
haha sadly nope. i’m owing people a huge amount of debts (around 50 bucks), so yea, i hope to save more of my allowance to clear those debts. haha. so when i clear those debts, i’ll get back to this question.

( 6 ) have you ever played an instrument?
yea. when i was younger, learning an instrument was an enrichment. now, it serves as lots of purposes. and yea enrichment still works, fun is another factor, and the best of all, is being in my own world of music with my instrument. i never thought it’ll be so important to me when i’m in need for entertainment or just to de-stress.

( 7 ) if you make $1 million, what will you do?
hmmm clear all debts, that includes my parents’ car loans and housing loans. debts are really sucky. then enjoy a nice holiday with it. not too long, just a good 2 weeks at europe? that won’t really take up much of the million. the rest will be invested. leaving it at a bank with good interest rates that will help pay for my university fees and hopefully if enough, my brother will be able to study overseas if he wants to. 

( 8 ) what do you think of yourself?
actually i think i’m quite lame. i always try too hard to make a joke out of everything. it’s like, i have to think to make it funny. sometimes, funny goes beyond wisdom. but at times, i think i joke without thinking. which is crap too. cause like they always say, saying without thinking will produce garbage. (okay they didn’t say that, i came up with it cos it sounds nice)

actually lots of stuff! it’s really small gestures that even the people who made me happy, didn’t know they did it. sometimes, hanging out with some people makes me happy. sometimes, being able to go to school and see some people makes me happy. sometimes, suanning people or being suanned makes me happy (but that doesn’t mean you can do it all the time) sometimes, receiving or sending ego messages to people makes me happy. oh and my favourite, is writing postcards, or cards for people! haha if you’ve been receiving random meaningless postcards from me when there’s no occasion, well you just made me happy (:

( 11 ) what type of person you hate most?
i guess, people who don’t learn from their mistakes? chances are always there, it’s up to you to take advantage of it. (that’s the passage for my chinese mid-years! haha)

( 12 ) where do you see yourself 10 years down the road?
hmmm this question is quite familiar. oh oh, haha, at jess’s beach wedding?? erm actually at 27, the world is still our oyster (from spongebob!)! there’s lots of stuff to do, but at the same time, i’m sure i’ll be busy. so i see myself, trying to balance, work, family and social life. oh my parents told me friends are a goner by the time work and family starts, that’s my latest motivation in life and in growing up. proving that point is wrong. join me won’t you?

( 13 ) if you have a superpower, what will it be?
wow i used to think of this quite some time ago. but i can’t rmb my answer. let me think. oh okay, apparate. like in harry potter. won’t travelling be that much easier?

( 14 ) what do you think is the most important thing in your life?
everything that i have now that i may or may not know to cherish. cause i know, things changes really quickly. so i believe in living the moment. sometimes if you see me smiling to myself for funny reasons, well i’m savouring the moment.

i hope it’s not the end of the world?

( 16 ) if you have a chance to choose, will you want to go back in time? when will it be?
hey! i was just thinking of this a few days ago! can’t rmb if it’s cos of some mid-year paper, or just something else. i was complaining away how i wish i could just go back in time, and make that change. it’s not the first time i thought of that. but my answer always comes down to this: i’ll always dream of changing history, but no. cos like explained in harry potter, one change of the past, will change the future. i like how things are now. i won’t know if that change i make will affect the friend i meet, the school i’m in, the happiness i’m getting. i rather not risk it. treasure the moment. i believe that things happen for a reason.

( 17 ) if you could meet one celebrity and be friends with him/her, who would it be?
haha i have eyecandied LOTS of celebs, but they change all the time. one new movie/TV show and, tada, new target. celebs are just meant to be seen on TV, not touched or hang around.

( 18 ) are you courageous enough to tell the person that you like him/her?
haha nope. like above, i have eyecandied TONS of people. like almost one per month! can you imagine if i told every single one of them. when i get over eyecandying them, i’ll always wonder, why them in the first place. so nah, i don’t trust myself. haha.

sadly, it’s the 2nd last week of june holidays! woah, what happened to my supposed ‘rest and relax’ holiday month! hmm okay pre-u sem lasted for week 1, then week 2 was basically catching up on the lessons i have missed, and this week was plain mugging and the formation of my ‘i am a hard-core mugger’ group!

 

4th June

okay, i had cca. it’s just the normal meetings and gossip sessions. whoops. oh but for the first time ever, i didn’t take photos! wow! hmm then i might probably be a real meeting (i doubt so) that i didn’t have time to cam-whore or take random phots. ehhy wait, i rmb taking photos! using shangyu’s new cam! okay, i shall wait for her photos to be uploaded soon and i’ll edit here (:

after the meeting, eileen, shangyu and i went to orchard to buy angela’s and eileen’s (without her knowing) belated bday present! we managed to buy eileen’s present while shopping with her! haha. i was the distraction, of course. shangyu ‘went to the washroom’ when she actually sneaked to the floor below to buy the present while i distracted eileen and made her believe we were really waiting for shangyu. haha yayy, i’m a good actress. eileen later on insisted that it was cause she’s blur and not that i’m a good actress. bleah! oh yea we went ps for shangyu’s piano lesson, and hanged around there to shop for father’s day present too (it’s this sunday!) and we met si jin! haha so qiao.

 

6th June

i had replacement geog lesson! there were only 4 ppl in class. so we definitely got our undivided attention! si min was rather funny during the class. she kept asking mr ng for the answers of the blanks in our lecture notes, like for almost every page. haha. then later on i had my study date with hannah and sut sia (: hannah brought her spongebob balloon! so cute right (:

oh this is hannah’s and my pencil box from shane! he bought during his euro trip! so cute la. oh yea now i rmb, i spend my cca meeting showing off my pencil box! haha!

7th June

my pae clique outing to celebrate eileen’s and angela’s belated bday! oh oh we went ikea for lunch! it’s was really really packed. well it’s a weekend, so it’s filled with families.

we went walking around ikea too. eileen and shangyu were walking around and analysizing stuff as if they were really buying for their new home. angela and i jokingly asked them when’s their housewarming. haha. oh shangyu tou pai a few little kids photos! tsk tsk. while they were busying looking for furnitures for their home (they were even looking at beds and the layout of their house!), angela and i were happpily taking photos using the mirrors in the showroom (: haha. later on we went to tampines mall and shangyu and i further surprised them with bday cakes of their favourite character.

9th June

Finally went back to SN to get my SGC. quite a really neat book, really classy. haha. if you haven’t collect it, better do so soon! oh i went back with becca, carolyn, stacey and erica. we hanged around chatting and playing with stacey’s scarf. Carolyn was doing funny poses with it :/ haha it was great to get together (:

10th June

My proudest day of the whole holiday mugging! It was my ‘i am a hard core mugger’ day. jess, hannah, rachel and i were in school at 10am and we (jess and i, while the touch ruggers had training) studied till 530pm! wow!!! yes, we seriously studied. felt kinda accomplished that day cos by 3 plus, i was kinda done with most of my work (: jiayou people, it’s just a week left! sadly, i don’t feel prepared. like seriously. maths is a gone-case. the only topics i’m good at are partial fractions and binomial. bleah. anyone care to tutor me? a week is good for crash course!

oh yea, we were balancing hannah’s ah wang on our heads. jess broke the record with 21 mins. darn.

HEY yea, i’m finally going to blog about pre-u sem! haha!

DAY ONE!

well first of all, i’m in sg NINE! (seminar group 9) it’s kind of the whackiest group you can find. haha. it’s really cool how all the groups are made up of people from different institutions, so chats are always about the gossips of each school, spamming the rumours and highlighting the facts. yea.

oh yea the hostel is kinda cool. well altho it’s not exactly a camp, i wasn’t really expected good beds and nice rooms of only 2 in each (haha compared to sleeping bags and those of house exco camp- ALL the j1 girls in a classroom).

well like most camps, there’s always bonding/ team building sessions. that kinda covers the whole day, really. haha. i thought i’ll never rmb everyone’s name cos there’s like 23 of us and from different schools! but at the end of the day, i managed to rmb name and school! oh yayy! haha seeing each other in blazers for days does help!

DAY TWO!

it’s the official opening ceremony day and VIPs like Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan, Dr. Ng Eng Hen, MPs and school principals (i didn’t get to see mr kwek tho!) were there. We had a discussion forum thing with the minister. it was rather interesting actually, definitely better than the waiting time! Oh there was this SMS thing, so people could sms in their opinions and it will be shown on the screen. they didnt show my msg tho :/ sad.

oh yea did i mention about the food?! it’s great! we were fed 6 meals a day! breakfast, tea, lunch, tea, dinner, supper! even till now i still can’t get used to eating the normal meals! i get hungry really easily! oh we get like noodles for breakfast and supper too! it’s like so filling :/ but seriously, we were really well-fed!

yea and we had digital chase for the rest of the afternoon! it’s like the more high tech version of amazing race! we were given 2 laptops each grp, and at each station we have to scan a 2D barcode using the webcam to access a certain website to solve the next clue to our location. oh did i mention we have to run around the whole ntu! gosh. we were only allowed one bus ride! nearly died running around. haha.

oh and at one of our stations, we had to get the whole group involved to perform like a certain number of body parts touching the floor. it was something like 2 heads, 2 backs, 2 butts, 10 hands, 8 feets, 3 knees, and so on.

DAY THREE!

it’s the day of parallel presentations and panel discussions! parallel presentation is presentation by each institution on their given topic. like for ny, it’s home singapore: not just a pit stop. it’s regarding how singapore changes it attitude towards foreign talents for the benefits of our country. we watched ny presentation during one of the assembly programmes a few weeks ago.

panel discussion is where 3 invited guests like MPs come to talk about issues. for day three, it’s regarding active citizenry: issues and possibilites. i slept thru one of the speakers’ talk. whoops. well but i do have notes on the other speakers!

oh yea and each time after a discussion, participants are allowed to ask questions. during the whole week, my side of the lecture halls didnt have any ny ppl asking questions at all! haha.

 there’s always those standard few ppl asking questions. so after awhile, we kinda knew their name cos ur suppose to state ur name and institution.

oh yea we got to swop blazers! haha.

and we watched an asian film ’The Blossoming of Maximos Oliveros’ which is a Philippines film. i think it should be rated m18, cos it has like nudity for one segment, and it’s a gay story, really. haha. during the show, you can hear ppl squealing, laughing, sniggering at many gayness parts. but it’s kinda a cool film.  after that we had a press-conference with the scriptwriter of the film!

yea and many of realised we haven’t taken much photos so the cam-whoring began! haha.

DAY FIVE!

it’s the last day! there was closing ceremony and GOH was senior minister of state lui tuck yew.

i acutally took individual pics of everyone in my sg. haha go to my shutterfly to view it! and i’ve tried on other school’s blazer! just a few, didn’t quite had the time to try on others. after trying on so many, it made me realise ny’s one was kind of the most comfortable (:

well 5 days just went by like that. it’s kinda really cool blogging about it, thinking back abt the great 5 days i’ve spent with my sg. it’s really 24-7 for 5 days with them. i agree with rachel who said she felt weird not having supper with my sg on friday, after we’ve break camp. i haven’t been able to sleep early these 2 days cos we normally slept at 12 or 1 am during that 5 days. my phone alarm went off at 955pm for the last 2 days, and i’ve only switched it off ytd night. haha, it’s normally an alarm to remind me to go down for supper. seriously, pre-u sem wasn’t like a camp. even if it was, it isn’t just like any other. it felt like ‘we were on a business trip’, which was what yohani and i said on the first day on the bus ride to ntu. we were given a great dorm, quite fantastic food, wonderful events (did i mention we get 2 hrs to bathe each night? HAHA), and lots of fabulous memories to remember those 5 days at ntu. my only regret? being unwell, flu and fever, at the last hour of pre-u sem on friday. i hurriedly left after check out, manage to rush and hug a few good-byes, but not staying long enough to see everyone for the last time at ntu. i didnt get to feel that flood of emotions i used to get at farewells and graduations and last day of school.

i guess i can always cheer myself up by this saying i would write in most of the farewell cards, it’s not really good-bye, it’s just the beginning of a wonderful journey (:
